New Religion Communicators Council President Champions Interfaith Relations

Rev. Bud Heckman, United Methodist minister and co-founder of the Interfaith Funders Group, was elected president of Religion Communicators Council (RCC) at the group’s annual conference this past weekend in Chicago.

He is a specialist in interfaith relations, philanthropy and communications. He serves as Executive Director of the International Shinto Foundation in New York and Communications Director of Worldwide Support for Development (Tokyo), two global foundations.

He is responsible for outreach, communications, and organizing interfaith dialogue and action at the El-Hibri Foundation and has worked for 25 years in interfaith relations, fundraising, program development, communications, organizational leadership, and community-level organizing.

Rev. Heckman has an M.Div. in Theology and Biblical Studies from the University of Chicago.

Religion Communicators Council (RCC) was established in 1929 to promote public discourse about religion. Originally an all-Protestant organization, council membership now includes communications, advertising and public relations professionals of the Bahá'í, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Scientology faith communities.
